Dojo Ettiquette:

1.When a student enters or exits the training floor, always face inward, bow and say OSU. This is done twice, once to show proper respect towards any senior ranks, and again to express apprecation for your training.

2.Always address your instructor by their title, Shihan/Sensei or Sempai. When approaching your teacher, it is important to say osu and offer a handshake with both hands, eyes down. It shows respect and trust.

3.All students are expected to assist in keeping the Dojo clean and safe.

4.All students must keep their uniform (gi) clean and pressed. The belt is NEVER wahsed. All dojo designation patches must be sewn on each uniform that is worn in the dojo.

5. When the instructor is ready to begin or end a class, they will say "Line up"! Always yell Osu, and line up by rank in a quick and orderly fashion. The highest ranked student stands to the left of the instructor. Never cross in front of a higher ranked student, walk behind the row to your position.

6. If a student arrives late for class, kneel in seiza on the side and wait to be acknowleged. Say "Osu, excuse me for being late", and quickly take your place in line.

7. Do not ajust your gi without permission from your instructor. When advised, turn and face away from the instructor and quickly adjust, then return towards the front and hold your ready position (Yoi).

8. No food or gum permitted on the training floor. No jewelry may be worn during training.

9. Do not disrupt the class by speaking out of order. Do not question your intructors orders.

10. All students are expected to put forth their best efforts during training. Never give up!

11. All students are expected to keep their finger and toenails neatly trimmed, so they don not injur another student.

12.All ranks below brown belt, must always wear a full white uniform, and cannot roll their sleeves up more than mid forearm. Brown and black belt ranks, may wear a comination of white & black gi top or bottoms, and may have short sleeve top.
